Building new sets is most of what we do. We look after the irons you already own too, and we will tell you honestly which one you need.

Golf iron fitting session at Blades Golf Repair in Dallas, Texas

Service 01

Iron fitting

A session on your swing, ball flight and strike, so the rest of the build has something real to aim at.

We watch you hit balls and look at what the numbers say: swing speed, attack angle, strike pattern and ball flight. Then we talk about how you want the club to feel at impact, because two golfers with the same numbers often want very different clubs. You leave with a written specification whether or not you have us build the set.

Custom iron builds

Complete sets built from head to grip around your fitting numbers.

Heads, shafts, ferrules and grips are assembled by hand, one club at a time. Lofts and lies are bent to your numbers, shafts are cut to your length, swing weight is balanced across the set so the 8 iron feels like the 5, and grips go on at the size that suits your hands.

Loft and lie

Forged irons move with use. We measure every club and bend it back to spec.

Strike the turf a few thousand times and a forged head will drift, usually a degree or two and rarely by the same amount across the set. That shows up as one club that goes left and another that comes up short. We measure the whole set, bend each head back, and give you the before and after numbers.

Steel and graphite golf shafts for reshafting at Blades Golf Repair, Dallas

Service 04

Reshafting

New shafts cut, installed and trimmed to the length and flex you play best.

Whether you have broken a shaft or want to move to something lighter, heavier, softer or stiffer, we pull the old shaft, clean the hosel properly, and install the new one to your length with the correct tip and butt trimming. Swing weight is rechecked afterwards so the club still feels like the rest of the set.

Golf club regripping at the Blades Golf Repair workshop in Dallas

Service 05

Regripping

Grips in the size, material and build-up that suit your hands.

Grips are the only part of the club you touch, and they wear out faster than anything else. We will talk through rubber, cord and hybrid, standard through jumbo, and extra wraps under the top hand if you need a little more build-up. Old tape comes off properly, not just the grip.

Repairs

Loose heads, rattles, worn ferrules and the rest. Bring it in and we will take a look.

A rattle is usually a loose tip weight or a broken shaft tip, and a head that turns is an epoxy failure, not the end of the club. We will diagnose it honestly, tell you what it costs, and tell you when a club is not worth repairing rather than charging you to find that out.
